Bobby Casey, Casey Jr., for Vice-President.

Its got to be some political-public relations stunt.

There’s probably a story in Virgnia that Governor Kaine is on his short list, and one in Florida that Senator Bill Nelson is on his list, etc.

OMG! Bring it on. HBO could do Pay-per-View for the vice-presidential debates. The entertainment value would be off the charts.

Bobby would make Ross Perot’s runningmate look like Demosthenes.

This must be some version of New Math where two unqualified people added together are supposed to equal one qualified person.
As with all New Math it doesn’t work.

If it were to come to pass and the two managed to win what would Fast Eddie do with the open slot for Senator?
    Appoint himself?
    If not, who?

If Bob Casey doesn’t want Obama’s Veep slot, maybe it’ll be Dan Onorato????

God help us all. They both are very inexperienced and I would argue the last eight years shows why we need someone with experience.

I doubt it. He needs either someone with executive experience (A governor / ex governor) or military experience.

This will help to make up for one or both of his shortfalls.

    I disagree.

If you look at the requirements to be VP (none), Casey is perfectly suited.

If you look at the responsibilities of being VP (breaking tie votes and going to funerals) again, Casey has the perfect resume as he he done little else.

Okay, anyone have any new ideas for McCain’s Veep choice?

How about Rick Santorum? He’s qualified and conservative…..

Oh please… why won’t Santorum go away?

I had heard that Rick Santorum was planning to run for School Board in Penn Hills; he’ll have to pass on the Veep.

There is only one job Santorum is qualified for: GOP Cheerleader in Chief

This is a great idea. In fact, Bobby and Obama should both quit the senate immediately to focus on the campaign.

Has he even been back to Penn Hills since he last “lived” there in 2006?

Actually all three, McCain, Hellary and Obama should have been required to resign when they decided to run for higher office.
All elected officials who choose to run for a higher office, that requires a full time campaign schedule, should be forced to resign their current seat.
No job seeking on the taxpayer dime.

In theory that sounds fantastic. However, it wouldn’t allow for re-election.

Perhaps a better solution would be that you are not allowed to miss any votes, committee meetings, etc. while you are campaigning.

    Rich,

    You said:

“In theory that sounds fantastic. However, it wouldn’t allow for re-election.”

That makes David’s idea just about perfect.

Seriously though, they shouldn’t be able to hold their present seat without being there while running for higher office. After they form their exploratory committee, they should get 60 or 90 days to make a decision. If they remain in the race, they automatically lose their present position.

There is no employer in the real world that allows you to search for a new job while he still pays you to do the job that he hired you for. Why do we allow these bass turds to get away with it?

If an incumbent is doing the job properly they do not need to campaign full time for re-election.

Want a serious answer? Governor Richardson tipped the scales to/for Obama when he decided to endorse him and not the pair who made his career, the Clintons. Watch for him to be on the list. As for Bobby Casey, Jr.? What a joke this guy is! Are “reformers” happy with him? If you want to spend some time productively, find an opponent for this dude now. Otherwise, prepare to spend more money just to survive than ever before. The theater is tooo funny; the reality, tooo grim. The primary elections? The winners were the panderers — as usual.

Agreed. Richardson is the most likely VP for Obama, especially since he could draw the Hispanic vote. One other curiousity about Richardson: he would be the first politician in almost 100 years to have facial hair.
