My friend had one of Carney’s volunteers come to her door and ask her how she was going to vote. She answered, “I’m voting for Chris Hackett.” The young man asked, “Why?” She said she was voting for Hackett because he was Pro-Life. The young man said, “Chris Carney is a devout Catholic and he’s Pro-Life.” She then told him that Carney has a 100% rating with NARAL and he is not Pro-Life. Carney wants people to think he is, but it’s definitely a lie.
Listen, and listen well: SHAME on the NRCC and all those who insisted we had to recruit a candidate who could self-fund, personal peccadillos be damned. This race is over, Carney is going to win, because we got ourselves a self-funder alright, one who is a lousy hypocrite on taxes — because he didn’t pay his — AND he had an illegal immigrant for a nanny. I’ll take a poor candidate with the right principles and no skeletons anyday over a smooth talking country clubber who doesn’t pay his taxes and hires illegals to bring him his tea and crumpets. Unreal. *snort*
Carney covered his butt with a “NO” on bailout, but this liberal college poll shows Hackett is in the ball game.
He’s a solid real conservative unlike the insider candidate who was recruited but lost in the primary.
You haven’t actually looked at the positions of either candidate, I take it. You do know that Hackett wasn’t bestowed on the voters by the NRCC, he was elected in a hard-fought primary, right? And you believe whatever you hear in a Carney campaign ad without even checking on the truth of it?
Hackett is an out of touch Club for Growth backed millionaire candidate who will never win in a rural working class district. People in the 10th want a social conservative who did not marry into wealth. In 2010 Republicans need to nominate Doug McLinko.
Didn’t pay his taxes? Have you checked into this matter or even ask Mr. Hackett himself about the situation? Obiviously not. You cannnot believe everything you hear on tv. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before making comments you know nothing about. I guess you believe in Superman and Spiderman too, because you saw it on tv?
Waaaaaaah, waaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaah. Waaaaaaah, waaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaah. Carney is lying to voters. This poll is stupid because it is a liberal college poll (just like every poll that looks good for a Democrat is wrong and liberal). Waaaaaaah, waaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaah. Waaaaaaah, waaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaah.
I’ll tell you one thing Carney is doing: he’s winning in an overwhelmingly Republican district (much like Tim Holden).
Would you like some cheese with that whine? I have a feeling that on November 5 you will need some extra sponges and/or towels to absorb the tears generated by disappointing election results. Well, maybe the excuses on the GrassrootsPA message boards that day can absorb some of those tears – and we know there will be plenty of excuses.
Oh..you’re still here? You say the same things every time you post and you’re proven wrong every time you post.
MoveOn is calling…
And “the good ole boy” is already campaigning and throwing his money around for 2010. The people of the 10th cannot let a millionaire lobbyest from the 11th represent us. He’s there for himself, not for us. I’m already thinking of ways to combat this 11th district resident. Money cannot buy everything.
I think some of us 10th District residence still have Sherwood sponges leftover. However, come election day it will be you, not us needing them.
Well did Hackett pay his taxes, or didn’t? Did he have an illegal nanny, or didn’t he?
I believe you should check with Mr. Hackett himself. However, I did hear him explain that he had tax penalties that he did not pay until he figured out why he was being charged. He paid over 69 million in taxes last year. The commericals Carney are running are bogus. One example is he paid the school district instead of Berkheimer (or vice versa) taxes and it should have gone to the other so he was fined $240 some dollars; which he had not paid until he learned why he was being charged. This is hardly as the commericals state that he owes thousands of dollars in back taxes. If Carney’s so worried about taxes why doesn’t he debate and explain himself?
I presume you mean Dan Meuser when you refer to the “good ole boy”. Yeah he’s throwing his money around, he’s working hard for Lou Barletta, and McCain/Palin. Hackett will sink or swim based on his own merit, it will have nothing to do with Meuser.
Kevin
Beautiful, the self proclaimed financial expert cannot figure out his taxes. I guess that explains why he is a lapsed CPA. A couple of things you didn’t address, what about Susie? What’s worse…hiring an illegal in the first place or not paying taxes associated with her “wages”? Hackett did both. Can you spell hypocrite?
kevin
“Hackett Supporter” probably cannot spell “hypocrite,” let alone tell us what it means. After all he/she doesn’t seem to know the difference between “residents” and “residence.” Briefly, a “resident” is an individual, while a “residence” is an inanimate object within which on resides.
“One” is spelled with an “e” on the end. Otherwise is becomes the word “on,” which is an entirely different word.
If you are going to nitpick the spelling on an Internet blog, you should first make sure your spelling is correct.
You’re forgetting that the reason Holden is winning in a GOP district is because NONE of the local Republican committees (Berks, Lebanon, Dauphin, etc.) has bothered to try and take the seat back; the RINOs are too busy trying to control their little dutchies without giving a d@mn about advancing a Republican agenda.
The Republican leadership has only itself to blame for not retaining any of these seats.
Try again. I voted for McLinko in the primary (for state senator), but Hackett is the winner of a hard-fought primary. Clearly, the Republicans of the 10th wanted him. What do you have against the Club for Growth? It’s a solid, conservative organization. I’m wondering if you’re not a leftwing troll…
So much arrogance, so little intelligence. You know, you could probably make some money bottling all that bile and selling it–you certainly have more than enough for your (or our) needs. Why am I not trying to refute your absurd allegations? Why bother? You won’t listen, and no one else gives any credence to your maunderings.
So you can’t dispute his facts, therefore you resort to the last kvetch of the internet loser, the spelling flame. Typical. Whine, whine, whine…
Oh Kevin, you’re so predictable. Your Hackett Derangement Syndrome is showing again. Come back after the election, perhaps we can have a rational discussion. Till then, you don’t seem able to, at least where Hackett’s involved.
“resident, residence” reminds me of “potato, potatoe”
Always nice to “hear” from you Doug. A couple of things, obviously I have no use for Hackett, good riddance after 11/04.
I have been actively supporting McCain/Palin, and Lou Barletta, as have a lot of others. One reason, I believe, that Lou is doing so well is that a lot of folks who would have supported Meuser with time & money have shifted to Lou and ignored Hackett.
I attended a Barletta fundraiser last night and heard many comments from many good republicans concerning Hackett and how unpopular he is; I’m not resposible for this, nor is Dan Meuser. Hackett is getting a taste of his own medicine from Carney and frankly a lot of us are happy about it. Hackett is a terrible candidate, he cannot win over moderate republicans, and he sure as hell isn’t attracting any crossover support.
I hope his margin of defeat is enough to discourage him and other narrow minded, narrow appeal republicans from seeking public office in the 10th.
We can knock off Kanjo this time and take Carney out in 2010.
Kevin
Hackett Derangment Syndrome, as I said before. It’s obvious to everyone but you, evidently.
