This may be an empty promise becuase Bohner may not be the House GOP leader for much longer. His crazy battle against Charlie Rengal, where he threatened to take away committee assignments and his support for the sell out are not good signs. If I recall Murtha said Careny would get Sherwood’s Approps seat and that did not happen.
Also Waht is John bohners biggest legislatiove accomplishment?

That Said I think this is a good committe for Lou becuase it generally is a bipartisian committee that gets results. Also it allows him to extend his portfolio from immmigration.
I just Hope Lou’s goal does not become NY to Scranton Rail or Philly to Scranotn Rail. The Feds have already wasted so much money on a project that wil;l never be completed.
