Sounds like a hate crime to me….
I think you’re right, Rich. But the victim was a Republican, which means she was deserving of the deed, at least in the lefty’s distorted mind.
This is 1000x worse than any of the unsubstantiated accusations about comments made at McCain/Palin rallies, but just watch, this won’t get any coverage by the MSM. Only Republicans are “mean-spirited,” “bloodthirsty,” and “ignorant.” And thus, any injustices perpetrated upon them are justified.

This is a hate crime and if the DA in Allegheny County refuses to bring charges he should be removed from office.
Liberals support hate crime laws and this is a case where they should be happy to enforce them.
I wish hate crime laws didn’t exist but the prosecutor would have to be consistent and file the charge in this case until the hate crime law is off the books.
Hold on a second guys. The police sound a little skeptical about this “report.” Could be a hate crime alright, maybe just not what is initially being reported.
Every woman should be armed and dangerous to would-be attackers. Titanium-frame handguns are a dream to carry, a bear to shoot, but better to have it and shoot it well, once, than to leave a heavier .38 in the drawer at home.
Odd that only “anonymous sources familiar with the investigation” are saying these things.
Interesting that the AP is leaving out key parts of the story as reported by KDKA and WTAE.

Maybe that’s because there was no “attacker.” Take a look at the “B” on her face. It’s backward, like it was done in front of a mirror. This is nonsensical and it’s clear the police aren’t buying her story.
Or it’s backward because the attacker was holding her down while she did it. I’m sure she gave herself two black eyes and what looks like a broken nose too, huh Sherlock.
Calm down folks and read this… from Michele Malkin… she’s very skeptical and that was before fresher reports that the woman is now claiming she was sexually assaulted as well. They can test for that… and there will be a thorough review of the ATM security camera….
It’s a shame so many want to believe the worst about everyone. There are nuts out there on the left AND the right!

Her story has indeed morphed over the last several hours. Police have reported that she has taken a lie detector test. She is still considered the victim, though.

If she made this stuff up, she should be appropriately charged. As a McCain supporter, making up this stuff would be hugely stupid as it gives lefties the chance to blow off any violence that the Obamabots do (and there has been a ton of it).
The media still hasn’t gotten around to retracting the “kill him” story even though it has been debunked. You can bet they’ll trumpet this story for days if it’s proven false, while ignoring all of the real anti-McCain violence happening all over.
On the other hand, if it’s proven true, the Olde Media will quickly bury it in favor of more pressing issues…like clothing.

Common sense has me question everything through informed education. In the last few weeks there has been a lot of anti-McCain violence. If this was October 2007, then I’d be quite suspicious. In October 2008, this story is entirely plausible.

Wait a minute, dude. The only reason people would be willing to believe this is because there is a growing record of such instances: a guy’s home was shot up in Florida, the LancCO GOP HQ was shot up, a McCain office was vandalized in Pittsburgh.
If this were an isolated incident, you would have an argument that we need to wait for all the information; but because there are more wackos on the left, those of us on the right need to be prepared to defend life and limb.
