Good to see Gerlach and Dent vote against the bailout.
Along with Joe Pitts voting no. Good for him.
Tim Murphy voted against the original bailout bills……but……………..
He also voted for card check…….now this.
ENOUGH!
Over the years there are many people on tis list who have expressed major displeasure with Phil English’s voting record, believing it to be “RINO” in a big way. (I don’t know enough about those matters to be in a position to voice a well-informed opinion on that subject, but…)
This latest vote of his, the last vote or one of the last votes he will ever cast on a multi-billion-dollar spending bill, certainly seems to give great credence to those claims. Unlike people like Tim Murphy, who may still be casting votes (rightly or wrongly) based on the fact that he will have to run for re-election in another two years, Phil English no longer has to worry about that (…unless he’s planning a comeback???) As such, one can reasonably infer that that auto industry bailout bill is something that he agrees with, and not something that he believes he “has to” vote for simply so that it doesn’t get used against him in the next election cycle. Is that proof-positive that he’s a total RINO through-and-through? Maybe, maybe not, but it certainly says a lot about where he really stands on issues such as this !!!!
Saw that central PA’s favorite weasel, Tim Holden, voted for the auto bailout – AFTER voting against the bank bailout.
Guess his re-election campaign is over.
Everyone knows that Tim Holden is bought and paid for by the unions. They’ve been bankrolling him the entire time he’s been in Congress. In addition to his vote for Card Chsck, this is payback for his paymasters, an attempt to avoid as much pain for the UAW as possible. Holden’s on record as saying that the financial industry crisis was a “Wall Street problem,” but that the auto industry affects main street.
What a moron!
I’ve been a big (pardon the pun) English opponent. He’s a RINO on everything fiscal, and he has a storied history of doing anything to please the unions. Since this is a union bailout bill, there’s no reason to be surprised.
The woman who is replacing him would have voted the same way. I wonder if Phil has any clue why he lost…
Gerlach voted against the bailout. He must be covering his tracks for his possible run for Governor.
