That's all nice and good but a few words for Rep. Ramsey. First, you are not a police officer and your stint as a Temple security guard does not count. While you may have identified youself to the officers as a "state legislator" (big deal), it is entirely inapropriate for you to engage yourself in a police matter. For all the officers know, you're not a legislator but a drug dealer looking after his money. The officers don't know. So for your safety and that of the officers (whom too many have died already) you should not have approached the situation.
It sounds like these cops have a poor track record and should be dealt with but Rep Williams exercised some poor judgment in trying to become involved…even if one is a legislator
