Uh oh! Blue dog revolt? Someone grew a spine!
Some of them will be against a tax increase until they long for the fuzzy feeling WAMs give them… Speaking of which, cut WAMs! Oh wait a second, we can't, the Philadelphia pols would turn on each other without the political unity WAMs give them.
So where are we again? Oh yeah raise our taxes and keep WAMs flowing like snow at a 70s disco.
While Mr. Rendell looks for every opportunity to raise taxes, this word from Texas: "Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed into law Tuesday a bill that gives 40,000 small businesses a tax break. The state's new tax exemption applies to business owners who earn up to $1 million a year. 'Show me another governor who can brag about a $170 plus million tax cut right now during this economy. It's not happening."
If we had a Governor who cared as much about prosperity, we could have lower taxes, as well. Instead, our Governor just taxes and spends, taxes and spends.
silly right-wingers are buying right into the misdirection. MUUUHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Love the poster!
That said, we need to remember something: Rendell is a scum lawyer first, and one of the tactics of such creatures is to never put all of his cards on the table. He's playing a stress game and trying to distract our attention. He wants us focused on how much of a tax increase there should be and not on whether there is a tax increase at all. And heaven forbid any more conversation about cutting spending.
Further, Fast Eddie knows darn well he won't get the PIT up to 3.57% – but he does think he can get the GOP leadership (ya listening, Scarnati?) to compromise at 3.25%.
What needs to happen now is this: we need to ride our legislators and Rendell and demand that spending be cut with NO tax increases. Period. End of discussion. Rendell, of course, will not listen, but those Democrats in squishy districts will be worried because they are up for re-election next year.
I heard Folmer on the radio a week or so ago saying that the Senate GOP will hang tough; let's keep the pressure on them to make sure they don't make him a liar.
