Why do politicians insist on using "fuzzy math" and then believe that no one will question it?

I wrote both my legislators last week encouraging them to hold the line on taxes and not give in. I also told them it could take till Christmas for all I care. The House R legislator wrote me back in less than 24 hrs and agreed with me. The Senate R is still MIA, save for his autoreply telling me that they give priority to constituents. He better not be busy cutting deals.

Everyone needs to write these guys and make it known that new or increased taxes will not be tolerated.

And I think we need to state it clearly and unequivocally:

IF YOU RAISE OUR TAXES, WE WILL THROW YOU OUT OF OFFICE.
