The law of unintended consequences (maybe). Or as Quinn sez: Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of it's stated intent.

The do good nannies push for higher wages for the entry level workers but they will be the ones hurt most. Watch for another spike in unemployment as already stressed businesses lay off workers not worth $7.25 an hour.

Don't forget the real payoff is to unions. Most contracts call for increases for union workers when the minimum wage rate goes up and along with those higher wages, union dues goes up.

Look for the price of burgers and groceries to go up…or look for the already hideous quality of service to get even worse as they start to lay off more high schoolers.

Sounds like a good plan to get kids on the unemployment rolls before they are even employed.

Something to think about. The last time the unemployment rate for African Americans was less than for whites was before the first minimum wage laws were passed. Back then, people were openly racist. Now, being a racist is one of biggest taboos. The times and rhetoric have changed, but the outcome remains the same.

    Something else to think about.

Up until 6 months ago, this was the land of the free and the land of opportunity. All one has to do is work hard, prepare yourself for the opportunities that abound, and then work hard for what you want.

Hard work and preparation matter. In fact, they are essential. Race does not matter if work hard and are prepared and race shouldn't help you if you aren't prepared and don't work hard..

Learning how to work is fundamental. Minimum wage has killed that opportunity for a lot of people. Thank liberals for that.
