Schroder is a hypocrite for hiring Mike Long onto his campaign team. These guys at CasablancaPA did some research on Schroder's past comments.

the same reason Corbett won't prosecute
Schroder is a leader and will be a great Congressman — there are few as principled as he will be. He's been an extraordinary leader in the state House of Representatives. That's a fact.
Bad move hiring a consultant who's never won a congressional race and who;'s under investigation for bonusgate. Not too smart there Curt.
Curt is a smart guy. And are u sure he hired the Long Machine ? The man is an animal in any race and I am sure Curt will keep his consultants on a straight path.
Mike Long did a bang up job in the race to suceed John Peterson. His guy lost. Pay raise architect and corrupt Harrisburg insider. A great resume for a Congressional race. The Strategy Group will run the text book campaign and thus another GOP loss.
prepare for some mean, nasty, dirty last minute weekend mailings
Casablancapa is a very informative web site in matters relating to Bonusgate. Key phrases from link provided by Larry. Curt Schroder has undermined his credibility by adding this very expensive consultant. After all, underfunded John Eichelberger beat his boss, Robert Jubelirer.
After all, why would Schroder who says on his campaign website that he is "one of the top reformers in the General Assembly" risk the embarassment of bringing onto his campaign team Mike Long who received $41,405 in bonuses for 2005 and 2006 — more than any other state legislative employee.
At the same time Long received these astronomical bonuses, the media referred to him as the Senate Republicans':
– "chief campaign strategist" (Post Gazette)
– "political guru" (Patriot News)
– "a homegrown version of White House political czar Karl Rove" (Morning Call)
– "top political aide" (Capitolwire)
Only the most gullible will deny what most in the Capitol have know for years…Long (and other well-known Senate Republican political operatives like Drew Crompton and Suzanne O'Berry) were given bonuses for the campaign work they did for their bosses.
Get a grip, people.
The Strategy Group did a band up job with Mike Pence and Ron Paul – among others:
