Hey Billy boy this ain’t puddin !
I really like Bill Cosby but he should research the facts before getting into bed with Fast Eddie…
I remember back in the day when Temple would play Penn State at Beaver Stadium and the student section would chant "COSBY SUCKS". Those were the days.
And I should care what a California resident thinks about our state's finances, why??
I love and respect Bill Cosby, but unfortunately, he doesn't have his facts straight:
http://cfpolicyblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/fact-che...
He also forgot to yell "Hey Hey Hey!! It's Fast Eddie"
The numbers he used for costs per pupil could not possibly have been correct. Like Mr. Benefield, I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Cosby for many good things he has done. But, this didn't sell me on what the Governor is selling.
Bill Cosby's dress does not present a good role model. He does not look like a serious person and dark glasses? this isn't Hollywood. This is serious business and children's futures and jobs and the economy are at stake. This is a all hype and, as Nate points out, the little substance is vapor.
Why would we care what Bill Cosby thinks about the budget of the Commonwealth of PA?
We should care because, well, because we should care. It's in the Constitution, that we are supposed to care, or it's somewhere. Any time a well-known figure says we should have our taxes raised, we should agree. If we care.
Yeah, let's follow the example of California. NOT!
Go back home Bill.
Mr. Cosby, all the money pumped into public education isn’t improving education in Philadephia where you grew up. Education in Pennsylvania’s cities is in the tank in spite of all the money spent.
The truth about money and education is simple. More money for education means more salaries and benefits for the people who work in public schools.
It does not mean better education for students since the big cities where the bigggest amounts of money are spent have the worst test scores.
Bill,
I should have been clearer. I was referring to Bill Cosby, not you.
Ray, that makes it worse! To think, let alone, say, anything negative about Bill Cosby is little short of blasphemy. He is, after all a celebrity. While not of the Paris Hilton class, anything he says should be respectfully heard and incorporated into our own beliefs. __In the future, Mr. Rendell should not bring just one celebrity (even if he is the world's most famous jello pudding spokesman). He should bring many, many celebrities to tell those legislators, and the rest of us, how to think properly. I'm glad that our Governor recognizes the importance of celebrity spokesmen, who can move arguments from boring facts to doing the Right Thing, and raise our taxes. We deserve it.
It's not in the Constitution; it's in The Communist Manifesto
Flushing more money down the toilet just clogs the john…
Why is it that when Ridge was governor taxes were lower and the state was still sending checks back to the taxpayers?
LOL
I can tell that I can't win this so I'm just gonna quit.
Too bad some people can't see the sarcasm in your posts.
Ray, I care too much to go home. In this brave, new world, I see now that all I can do is care. Not about common sense things, like how much it costs per student in the public schools, and how private and parochial schools do a better job at lower costs. No. Real caring has nothing to do with the real world. Take Global Warming, for instance. Of course it doesn't exist, but we should care about it because, well, because we should. No matter how much it costs, or, as some people say, "wastes". Caring is what's important, not being right or smart or any of those hard-fact things. I've changed the channel from Fox to Public Broadcasting. I know, it's wrong, but, now, I care too much to care. Who am I to argue with the world's greatest spokesman for Jello Pudding?
