OH GOD. NO THAT!
You see what they do when they are awake. Can you imagine what we'd end up with if they were sleep deprived?
School's back in session and football is starting.
You can bet that the plan in Harrisburg is "the population is turning their attention away from the capital and focusing on the gridiron. Now's the time to git-r-done."
Isn't it great that guys running for governor get to state the obvious and offer such phenomenal advice!
I'm as fed up with not having a budget as the next bloke, but come on General Jack, really now, come on. How about you just shut the hell up and go audit something? Yeah, I like that idea.
Great showmanship Mr. Wagner……
But seriously, the school districts and local governments are getting restless. They want the money and are making noises about borrowing money with costs to taxpayers.
This will be justification for taxpayers to get the shaft from the gang in Harrisburg who may cut a dirty deal in the next few weeks.
If there's going to be a compromise, the Rs need to adjust their position a bit. Perhaps $24B (or less?) would be a better number from which to negotiate. If they cave and agree to a tax increase, any credibility they might now enjoy will evaporate. Please write your Reps and Senators and urge them to hold the line.
Notice Wagner placed the most divisive element of his plan towards the bottom: gambling.
This is a stunt. Remember Wagner was a tax and spend liberal in the legislature.
