Tom Corbett is thinking the same thing.

Patronage isn't illegal – and Joe isn't turning a blind eye to illegal political "bonusgate" issues.

I think Hoeffel's idea to take the party to the left is ignoring the lastest polls big time !!!

Do run. Then we’ll be rid of you.

Another candidate much of the state has never heard of. Wake me when a real candidate shows up. So far, it's just more of the same.

"I think Hoeffel's idea to take the party to the left is ignoring the latest polls big time !!!" Well spoke, The_PA_Guardian! Well spoke, indeed! And the proof is in the following excerpt from the Hoeffel Manifesto:

"Government is not the enemy. We know government has an active role to play in creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for all. We also recognize that only government can end discrimination in public life—discrimination against the sick and uninsured in health care, discrimination against poor women and young women in restrictions on reproductive freedoms, discrimination against poor children in underfunded public schools and against poor communities in environmental policies, discrimination against people in love from freely marrying regardless of their gender. We are all children of God, and we are all equal in Her eyes. Our job is to make sure that our laws reflect and protect that equality."

Note the phrase" discrimination against poor women and young women in restrictions on reproductive freedoms." That's leftspeak for abortion on demand. Now, also note Mr. Hoeffel's theological utterances. They are the product of a mind wherein political correctness and agenda-mongering have simply gone more than haywire. Those utterances are also proof of why leftists should NEVER be taken seriously when they pontificate upon the nature of God.

No, Patronage isn't illegal. But ending patronage was the basis of Joe's entire 2007 county commissioner campaign. Then when he got elected he couldn't belly up to the trough fast enough. He rewarded his campaign goon, Jeff Albert, and his campaign chairman, Jim Maza, with $90,000 county jobs. Maza's is "part time" (2 days a week).

Hoeffel claims to be fiscally responsible, but in his 1992-1998 stint as a County Commissioner he left the county with no money and teetering on the brink of losing it's AAA bond rating. Upon his 2008 return to the commission he has embarked on a reckless course of deficit spending that has emaciated the county's budget surplus and will demand higher taxes this year.

Joe Hoeffel is a hypocrite of the highest form.

Friends, do you believe Hoeffel would protect the sovereignty guaranteed to Pennsylvania by the 10 Amendment to the US Constitution? Our Commonwealth's greatest long-term threat is tyranny by an arrogant, out-of-control federal government. I will give Hoeffel serious consideration only if he issues iron-clad promises to resist unconstitutional intrusions and mandates from Washington.

Doesn't anyone like being a county commissioner in that county?

The answer to the question posed by cmfk4848 about Mr. Hoeffel is a loud and firm "NO." Because, in the world-view of the left, the ONLY legitimate government is the "dictatorship of the proletariat" enumerated by Mr. Marx and Mr. Engels in their famous Manifesto. Consequently, they view the American Constitution as a "living" document that is supposed to "evolve" in response to "changing" times until it, of course, either mutates into or is replaced by the aforesaid dictatorship. To conclude, any "iron-clad promises" Mr. Hoeffel, assuming he would even consent to give on the Tenth Amendment, would have less binding power than tissue paper.

Hoeffel’s been in every political party and stands for exactly nothing! But, what do the other Democrat candidates stand for except doing more of what $pendell’s done to the taxpayers?

Do all of you believe that no Republicans – none – had anything to do with Bonusgate? C'mon fella's, it is Corbett's failure to prosecute everyone, both D's & R's, that will be his undoing.

Anyone (even Hoeffel) could beat this one-eyed cyclops Corbett. Corbett, unfortunately, will never be able to see where the punches are coming from!
