$27.8 billion budget, and about $400 million in new taxes.
Gotta love those "fiscally-conservative" Senate Republicans.
Some heads need to roll here. You must understand the NO votes of GOP House members and the rest of the Senators should be as suspect as they were on the pay raise four years ago.
All they want to do is get re-elected and that means keeping everyone happy by playing these games of House GOP votes NO on higher taxes while most Senate GOP votes YES on higher taxes.
The bluff needs to be called.
Bluff them back. Write them and tell them how glad you are with their stance on no new taxes and tell them they have your continued support. Let them get comfortable and think they have the vote wrapped up. Then come election day……..
Heads don't actually roll. The ears get in the way.
But that 'fun fact' shouldn't stop us from doing what you suggest.
