I love the way Terry Madonna spins this: "Specter is in a tight race with his general election opponent."
Dude! When the incumbent falls below 40% he is considered toast.
Do we write off Specter? No, because we are a year away from the general election, but if this trend continues Specter would do everyone a favor and just retire and go away quietly into the night.
Madonna’s a spin-master. Does anyone really care what he thinks or does?
Honestly, I love checking the results of new polls. Agree or disagree with the findings, benchmarks are always helpful.
Terry Madonna is the voice of the conventional Establishment wisdom. Arlen Specter's trend curve is down and down. Both Rs and Ds will pound him as unreliable and unprincipled and opportunistic and no one can deny that. The anti-Specter intensity is high in groups I come into contact with. Both conventional Rs and conservative Rs…for different reason but still very intense dislike.
Why are we caring this far out? Anything could happen.
