Wait a minute! I thought Nutter was mayor. No, they had to bring in Brady and Rendell because Nutter can't offer the unions the money they want. Look for "stimulus" dollars from the feds and more money from the Commonwealth. That way everybody else can pay more for people in Philly to use mass transit. Tolls for Route 80? Bank on it!
In addition to northpennresident with whom I agree, falling down bridges and roads not in the districts of the popular and/or wam-givers will continue to deteriorate. Statements that ‘we just can’t do everything in these difficult time’ will go on unabated. If you don’t have the population + the money, forget about thinking you’re even part ofthe state, since nothing’s coming your way. As to SEPTA, how about charging riders something approximating a reasonable fare? It won’t happen, of course, but the excuses now border on nutty when previously they were just laughable.
