The power of this is worth millions of dollars of campaign contributions. This Governor, this bipartisan General Assembly, the Earmarking WAM Establishments who are getting rich from government are the Jon Corzine and Creigh Deeds of Pennsylvania. More powerful than a marching Army of Hacks and Porkers is an idea which resonates with the Voters and Productive and Forgotten Taxpayers.
Sam Rohrer's message at state level with amplify and be amplified by Pat Toomey's at the Federal level.
It would help if we had a flood of conservatives willing to step up and run all over the state at all levels, (Even for minor local offices and committee seats) That way the old guard would be hard pressed to figure out which battle to fight.
He's got my support! Run Sam Run!
We certainly need someone other than Tom Corbett, the next Tom Ridge.
But I wish Rohrer would make it all or nothing.
Have another indy candidate ready to go if he loses the GOP Primary to make it clear Corbett and politics as usual is unacceptable in Pennsylvania.
Let's do it, dude!
Which seat you gonna gun for?
Well, if Rohrer runs in the GOP primary, he would be barred from running as an Indy in the general election.
Most asinine comment: Gleason suggesting that the PA GOP is stronger than the one in NY.
Hello, earth to Robby! Get your brain out of your fanny!
I would submit that if Rohrer runs and the TEA Party and 912 folks get ginned up, and if the conservative base gets off of its butt, then there could be a huge shake up.
Run Sam Run! There’s nobody with your record in the governor race yet.
ABCH – Anyone But Corbett the Hack
In light of the NY 23 fiasco, I see that NRSC Chairman Cornyn has now pledged not to spend any money in any open contested primaries (primaries not involving a Republican incumbent). I wonder if the PAGOP will take note………
This Rohrer movement has to be stopped before it gets started. It's not enlightened to want a man in office who will even think of reducing the spending that we need.
There must be one or two bad votes that he made. Let's get the conservatives to focus on that! Some of them will be glad to destroy him, even on the most trivial issues. Then, dig up some personal problems. Every closet has some skeletons. We have to get his out in the open so everyone can see.
Check his garbage cans. A man like that has no environmental sensitivity, and his refuse containers are most likely stuffed full of plastics and metals that he should have taken to a recycling center, like all right-thinking people do. Professional Republicans and Democrats agree, he's got to be stopped. Bet he doesn't even ride a bike to work, spend his spare time on nature trails, or take public transportation. He may not even believe in Global Warming.
I LOVE IT! Sam, I hope you run and show the political establishment that we are sick and tired of kissing the ring of the annointed candidate. Let's let the people have a voice for a change!!!
Run Sam Run!!!
(I also predict that the comments to follow will be negative – Corbett and Gerlach's paid staff will hear about this groundswell and put their hacks on task of posting negative comments…wecome aboard Gerlach and Corbett team…we, the people, have been just talking about you)
Bob – you're saying that this is "worth millions of dollars in campaign contributions" to cover the fact that you know full well that the right wing nut-jobs of Toomey and Rohrer will NOT win. Your next senator will be Arlen Specter and your next governor will be Tom Corbett. I'll wait to see if you've given any money to either one of these right-wingers, or are you smart enough to realize that the party is stronger than you are?
Give it up Bob! You're living in a fantasy.
Doesn't take much to be stronger than NY GOP.
Few are mentioning that the GOP did take back two counties in suburban New York and gained two seats on the NYC City Council. They might have botched NY-23, but they did do well downstate.
Rohrer needs to make his decision quick. If he is going to run, he needs to start raising cash.
Does that include Toomey coming out openly in support of Rohrer? Just wondering……….
Rohrer conservative? Pay raise Rohrer? Go Sam, please run, and then explain to us why your plan to "cut property taxes" will actually raise taxes on most people and really curious as to why YOU VOTED FOR THE MIDNIGHT PAYRAISE
Everybody looking for the perfect candidate? When you find him/her post the name.
I doubt it. It would be good if state committee was even handed and stayed out but I think State GOP may have finger on scale, once again.
I doubt it. These are two separate races with different dynamics. Toomey has to stay focused on national issues and on Sestak and Specter.
Here we go again!
"You sinned once in your life, therefore you are not qualified to serve as dogcatcher!"
You Gerlach lapdogs are pathetic!
You have no idea what you're talking about. The Rohrer school property tax ELIMINATION plan WILL NOT raise taxes on most people and will actually act as an economic stimulus for PA. Learn the facts about the plan before dumping your brains on the floor. See http://www.ptcc.us for the truth about the Rohrer bill.
As for the pay raise, ask John Perzel what would have happened to Rohrer's centerpiece legislation if Rohrer wouldn't have voted for the raise. Sometimes there are very good reasons for things happening the way they do.
GO FOR IT, SAM!
Bob – What you mean is that Toomey doesn't want to risk getting tarred with Rohrer's conservatism, particularly his social views. Pat's in it for Pat. Nothing new and nothing special considering the normal politico.
I meant what I said. Pat Toomey is focused on campaigning for Senate and advancing Constitutional Limited Government in US Senate as the "41st Senator". The Senate campaign is complicated and very, very difficult and very expensive. Focus is required.
