"Specter, 80, has no shortage of personal experience in dealing with health problems. He has so far defeated two brain tumors in 1993 and 1996 (he was given only 6 weeks to live after the first was discovered); survived a post-operative cardiac arrest following cardiac bypass surgery in 1998; and kicked Hodgkin’s lymphoma into remission in 2005 and 2008."
Of course this was all accomplished with the gold plated plan that we taxpayers paid for, not with anything like the mess that they are trying to shove down our throats.
Believing that this, or any government health care, can work is to voluntary shut off one's brain so as not to consider the long line of inevitable failures that have preceded it. The question is, "Why do these people think that this plan will succeed?"
The suspension of thinking necessary to arrive at the conclusion that this health care plan will work is destructive to all concerned. Common sense is ignored, rational analysis eschewed, and long, long lines will be the obvious and unavoidable result.
No nanny can ever leave anything alone, but is driven to make things worse, delighting in pretense rather than reality.
Lobbyists, LaRaza, SEIU and other special interest groups that control Congress wrote this health care reform bill and elected officials such as Allyson Schwartz, Patrick Murphy, Joe Sestak, Arlen Specter, and Casey are nothing more than human parrots for those who own them.
"Why do these people think that this plan will succeed?"
It's that 'hopey-changey' thing.
