After the 2006 election, I encouraged our local state reps to not vote for Perzel for speaker of the house. The one rep told me she was obligated to vote for Perzel for speaker. I was told "he brought in more money for the republican party than anyone else" and it was then explained how much power he wielded in Harrisburg and within the republican party. My response was "so what". I didn't like Perzel then, like him even less today. I've always said public officials should have sentences doubled or more when they get convicted of crimes by virtue of them dishonoring the public trust. I hope Perzel goes away for a long, long time. Let's see how much power he wields in jail.
