Why did they wait for the cops?
If they paid the bill, either by cash or cc then they should have just left.
I never tip for poor srevice, whic is fairly rare.
I fail to see how mandatory tips are legal, unless it is stated BEFORE you order.
Even then if the food is so slow coming then simply walk out.
No one should be forced to pay any 'tip' as that should be at the discretion of the patron and it is an option. The server is employed by the owner who pays all his benefits. Where does law enforcement have any jurisdiction over this stuff?
I cannot think of a bigger way to make Bethlehem look incredibly stupid in the public eye than for it's police force to get involved in a matter of tipping – whether mandated by restaurant policy or not.
Any others interested in boycotting this pub?
