Sounds like this guy needs some serious vetting and a good place to start will be to see where he has been donating his money. If it's all been going to liberals then he needs to be shown the door. He may be legit, but I am always suspicious of conversions that come about just as they decide to run for office and their 'old party' slate is filled, a la Arlen Specter.
