PENN STATE will fire their main MANN

Praise God, the fraud has been exposed.

What an embarrassment! If PSU doesn't dismiss this joker, then the board needs to be investigated by an organization intimately familiar with corruption – the state legislature!

Don't be so harsh. There may be nothing political involved.

He may just be a worthless fraud who was paid to promote garbage and at the same time a con man who bilked the taxpayers for his phony 'science'.

Either way, he should soon be doing research on being Bubba's cell mate.

Mr. Mann admitted that he was party to this conversation and lamely explained to the New York Times that "scientists often used the word 'trick' to refer to a good way to solve a problem 'and not something secret.' "

One can only imagine if an opponent of global warming (ooops, sorry, climate change) had made this statement. Climate change is its own religion, complete with sacraments and sacrileges. Evidently, it is a sacrilege to report this and CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and NPR have fallen in line.

Whether or not Mann is fired, we need to understand the danger that he and his ilk represent. A danger that, in my opinion, is greater than that posed by any terrorist organization. Climate change advocates would scuttle our economy in the name of the environment. Furthermore, their ranks are loaded with radical liberals who advocate one world government. Mann is nothing more than an extremist political operative masquerading as a scientist. Real science and truth are simply obstacles to be overcome on the way to imposing his philosophy on society. Let's hope cleanair is right, but I wouldn't count on it.

Those of us who never thought much of Penn State (I'm a Pitt grad, and we're largely immune to their press releases) have finally been totally justified in our disdain for what we may have suspected to be a haven for fad-driven pseudo-intellectuals.

Incredible that even Penn State's academic standards are so low that they haven't immediately fired people responsible for what looks like one of the biggest academic frauds in history, dwarfing even the "Piltdown Man" fakery over a century ago. But, if Penn State took a stand against one such "researcher", where would they stop? How many would be left?

If they don't stand up for academic integrity by getting rid of him, no one can trust anything that any Penn State "academics" do or say. Mann's made the whole place look as disreputable as some of us at Pitt may have thought. He should be forced to run a gauntlet of people swinging hockey sticks at him. Hard.

I bet we could have a really cool fundraiser with that idea…

Just left messages for my state senator and state rep. It is a disgrace that public money is going to support a fraud at PSU. I suggest more Pennsylvanians do the same.

This is from the UK Telegraph – and confirms what many have suspected:

"And, perhaps most reprehensibly, a long series of communications discussing how best to squeeze dissenting scientists out of the peer review process. How, in other words, to create a scientific climate in which anyone who disagrees with AGW can be written off as a crank, whose views do not have a scrap of authority."

Actually, I just saw an article in the Brit press that there are now calls by other environmentalists for the British scientist who was pen pals with Mann to quit.

Mann needs to do the honorable thing and get out now!

As an alumnus of Penn State, I will NEVER donate a single dime to the Alumni Association so long as frauds like Mann are members of the faculty.

I want to see his financial records exposed. I have no doubt that this clown is in bed with Gore in some way.

“A petition is running on the 10 Downing Street website calling for CRU to be suspended from preparation of any government climate statistics until the allegations have been fully investigated.”

We all need to call our state reps and demand that PENN STATE be suspended from any government climate projects uttil this has been fully investigated and MANN is gone.

SOB needs to be fired for cause. He can then move from Penn State to the State Pen.
