This man ran and was elected as a republican.

He is right about the State requesting the SSN, to a degree. Pa is in violation of Federal law regarding the request for a person's SSN (unless the State has updated their forms to comply).

For the exact same reason, I refused to provide my SSN and they refused to issue me a renewal of my license. I drove for 3 1/2 years without a 'valid' license.

The point of a license is revenue, not safety. The fact that 'licensed' drivers account for 99% of accidents means that this so called safety measure is useless. If safety really was important to the State, they'd require testing more frequently. No, all they want is the money and the control over our lives. That's what is important to them.

Which is precisely the problem with libertarian types – they pick the battles no one cares. Consequently, when they raise valid issues, they get ignored because they are considered fringe.

You guys have got to learn how to play ball strategically, not emotionally.

I know Libertarians oppose excessive government involvement in people's lives – and rightfully so – but this certainly doesn't help their case.

Yeah, damn those guys who value individual liberty and will fight for it in matters great and small.

Tell me some of the success stories of the GOP in fighting for liberty. Our liberty shrinks even when the GOP has charge of the WH and Congress. You republican types are just uncomfortable with even the thought of defending liberty.

And Morbius that is why the Libertarians and Greens remain fringe movements on the respective sides of the spectrum. If they actually fought strategically, they might undermine the existing parties.

    LOL

TEOTWAWKI is the cry of both parties to keep their minions in line. If anyone dares to challenge their party, we are told that the evil of the other party will rein for a hundred years and destroy everything. It's an effective strategy for the parties but not so good for the nation or our liberty.

The GOP was once a 3rd party and may be again because people are waking up and taking notice of the role that both parties play in destroying this country. What may seem to be fringe today, will take on more significance as people learn that liberty counts all of the time, not just in the big things.
