An outsider is truly someone we need. I'll take Aichele or Watkins. Anything but Cawley…he's just a political hack backed by the Rendell establishment.

  2. Fairy Tale

Aichele is the Tax Queen Every year up except this year rigged budget dictated by her political consulant. Hid a 30% tax hike as Controller until after that election. Then there are the conflicts Turnpike under investigation, Williams pipline, shale drilling practice from Hubby's law firm. The D's will have a field day. Scary date for Corbett – why spend all your time defending Aichele's record and conflicts against attacks by Saidel Then the poll numbers and disparity between her and opponents is unbelievable and proves it was rigged. Aichele is not a fiscal conservative She is a freespending anti pro-life RINO. Spector is probably her hero. This poll and press release is a fairy tale. Western caucuses don't be fooled. Google Aichele's bad record and conflicts for yourself. Corbett deserves better

Ask people in Chester County about Carol. We have the lowest taxes in the Southeast. This includes the suburban counties of Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery and those of the Lehigh Valley. We also have the highest bond rating possible thanks to her leadership. You can call her a tax-raiser and a liberal all you want…but her conservative proof is in the pudding. That's why she scores so high in the poll.

    Here are the facts.
    4 years, no tax increases.
    pro-life
    pro-gun
    top vote-getter in Bucks County

Jr…your dad would have called Mr. Cawley a conservative…and, a winner.

"Old-School" or should I say ESTABLISHMENT HACK? I went to Jr Jim and discovered just how Cawley went four years without a tax increase. He borrowed money!!!

Cawley REFUSED to call himself a conservative and said that he was an Obama 'progressive'!!!!

NO REAL pro-lifer would sit down and talk with Planned Parenthood like that liberal Jr Jim Cawley!!!!

Take your establishment hack and we'll pick someone else!

I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree with you, Record. Ask the people in or close to Tredyffrin Township – where she hails from – and you'll find some not so great opinions about her. Those opinions extend into municipalities next to or close to Tredyffrin, too. I know this, because I live less than a mile from the Tredyffrin township line.

If she's "Chester County's choice" then why in the world isn't she serving in the State Senate right now? I'll tell you why. Because her fellow Democratic County Commissioner beat her by 12 points, 56.2% – 43.8%. 12 Points!

May I also remind you that this election happened a mere 18 months after George W. Bush WON Chester County by 4.5 points, 52% – 47.5%.

That's a 16.5% swing in only 18 months. I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to believe the people who scream that was ALL George Bush's fault. Besides, the last time I checked, George Bush didn't have an impact on state government.

No Democrat had served any significant territory in Chester County in the State Senate for the previous 116 years.

    Jr. voted to raise taxes
Jr. voted for the highest county property tax rate in the 'burbs
Jr. is bought and paid for by the unions
    Jr. calls himself a "progressive"

Most people would call Mr. Cawley a big government liberal…and, a loser.

Fast forward 9 months later to the Spring of 2007, and Carol *almost* didn't get endorsed for reelection to her Chester County Commissioner seat in the Republican primary. This alone should show that people in Chester County are NOT happy with her.

Yes, Chester County is a great place to live and work – but Carol isn't solely responsible for all those achievements. There have been numerous other people on the Commissioner's board in the last 10 – 20 years whom have contributed to Chester County being such a great place to live.

I understand that some people feel differently than me – and that's fine.

Fast forward to November of 2007 where she won the general election by 11,000 votes in a 40,000 vote election. That's 25% points above her nearest rival. People like…just take the time to look at how she lead the ballot eight times.

I'm pro-life and I can vote for Carol Aichele, and here's why-

It's the legislature, not the Lt. Governor, that writes the laws on abortions. Given that abortion is a federal issue, it's specifically members of Congress (House and Senate) you ought to be concerned about.

The Lt. Gov role is largley a parliamentary one, presiding over the State Senate, etc. She won't be making policy, she'll be supporting the Governor's agenda.

  13. Dutchman
    Posted January 28, 2010 at 1:36 am | Permalink

Sorry GoldenRam but you are incorrect. The LT Gov. is the tie breaker in the Senate! How critical can you get? Can you imagine some important pro-life legislation coming down to a pro-abort like Achele? I am not willing to take a chance especially when there are so many good pro-life people to choose from and why should you?

Wait a minute GoldenRam I just thought of something even more important. What if – GOD forbid – that something happens to Gov. Rohrer? We would now have a pro-abort Gov!!! Why are you wanting to take a chance on this critical issue?!?

Let's call a spade a spade. Susquehanna polls will put out a poll that makes it say whatever you want it to say. You cough up the money and you'll get the results you want from them. Soon you'll be seeing polls by them that claim Pat is beating Arlen 84% to 6% and Corbett leading by triple digits. They should be treated like a Terry "I call every democrat in Philly" Modonna poll.

"I think that gay men and lesbians are realizing that the party is more than willing to accept them as a member and for them to have a say in the party and ultimately maybe even to become elected officials.”

    A). Liberace

    B). Elton John

    C). Jim Cawley

If you guessed C). Jim Cawley you would be right.

With quotes like this…clearly Jim Cawley is really a liberal, not a conservative.

I don't see what the fuss is all about – this was a hack poll based not on name recognition but on carefully crafted 'profiles' of candidates and with only a select potential opponents. For example, Russ Diamond was not included in this poll; how would a well publicized, award winning candidate for Lt. Gov. affected this poll?

In short, incomplete data reflects in incomplete data.

    Shoddy works, folks.

Carol Aichele is a tax-and-spend republican who has been responsible for raising taxes and growing government. As Andy Dinnibum's arch-enemy, the best she could do against Dinnimbum was raise taxes just to silence him.

Carol Aichele voted YES on tax increase every time time. Carol Aichele never voted NO against raising taxes.

She has no experience in business and one only needs to look at her campaign finance reports to see where her money comes from.

Carol Aichele is best described as a political hack doing her well connected husband front work.

Try to talk to this women – it is painful to strike up even a light conversation.

I here that Dinnibum is waiting to see if Aichele gets the endorsement. If Aichele gets endorsement, Dinnibum will probably run with Onorato.

Carol Aichele has voted YES to raise taxes EVERY TIME a budget has come up for a vote. Carol Aichele has never voted "no" on a tax increase.

If I am wrong, someone, anyone please prove it to me. No research will ever show that Carol Aichele voted NO on a tax increase.

Carol Aichele is a tax-and-spend RINO, along with her other Chester County cohorts. Republicans in Chester County have always voted to increase taxes.

I will never forget that she increased our taxes by 28% in one year.

Corbett hasn't won the race yet and everyone is scrambling for his endorsement! Talk about politics as usual. I'm not letting Corbett or the Republican Party tell me how to vote, not for Governor and not for Lieutenant Governor. My vote will be well thought out about who I think can responsibly govern our State and protect us from the usurping powers of Federal Govt. I'd like to see someone who is not of the establishment and not beholden to special interests hold these offices. So far, Mr. Steve Johnson is the only candidate in either race that fits that description and is completely qualified to hold office. I like that he is an experienced and successful small businessman because it shows me he is willing to take risks and makes good decisions, also shows he knows how to make a budget work. I like it that he has a military background, shows he is willing to fight for this country and also that he can work with others in a chain of command type system and I like it that he is an Eagle Scout as they are really big about HONESTY – so I know he has more instruction than most in that capacity.
