Chris: Gotta bring back the "Bullhorn Joe" photo…Please? Does anybody else wonder why we still have to endureJoe Hoeffel? Didn't his pair get beaten by the GOP pair in the Commissioners election? Oh yeah, we have turncoat Jim Matthews to thank for Hoeffel's political resurrection. Thanks, Jim.
Disappointingly, as reported by AP’s Peter Jackson, there is no mention of jobs for Pennsylvanians, nor the Budget Deficit of $4 billion dollars in $27.9 billion dollar General Fund budget and no mention of the Pension Bomb of about $4 billion set to explode 2012. Same sex marriage and abortion are important issues but they are not priority. The country and the state are headed to Fiscal Iceberg and social issues are not paramount.
There was discussion of different ways to tax; there was no discussion of the contributions of The Forgotten Taxpayer, the worker, saver and investor, who produce the funds and taxes that these four Democrats are giving, for free, to tax consumers and to public sector unions. “Something for nothing” and “Money without working” seem to be the underlying themes. These candidates are willing to use the coercive power of government to take from one citizen, a productive citizen, and give to another, particularly, political supporters. Our money; their power.
Bob, you are right about the questions but you must have missed the references by the Auditor General to his numerous reports on waste, fraud and abuse in state government. He argued for spending reform repeatedly. He mentioned Medicaid (see his audit … savings of $600 million), LIHEAP (see his audit … led to prosecution of people who stole at least $500,000), and PHEAA (see his audit …. bonuses, parties, trips to Vegas). He also cited contract reform (see his audit … almost $800 million in money awarded with no bids to one company over the past six years). He also said wants a constitutional convention and a reduction in the size of the General Assembly. In fact, there is no guy running for Governor who has done more to put meat and muscle on the skeleton of spending reform through his tough, no nonsense audits.
Bottom feeder is about right.
Is there anyone more dreadful of Joe Hoeffel? Is there any office this bottom feeder won't run for?
Reducing the size of the legislature is the wrong way to go. Part time, no perks, no pension, no insurance, no cars is the way to go. Limit their time in the Capitol to a few weeks a year. That will reduce spending and expand liberty.
If you eliminate members, you increase the power of those remaining.
Without even knowing anything about the race and the Dem candidates, I'm guessing this is a debate over who can out-commie the other to become the Progressive candidate.
They had to have someone from SEIU to run the debate, tells you who they will be beholding to.
It's downright scary how willing these clowns are to reduce or eliminate 2A rights.
They must be stopped. Period.
Memo to Joe Hoeffel: In 2007, in a conservative v. liberal election in Montgomery County for Commissioner…YOU LOST! You couldn't even bring liberal Montco in for the liberal cause during the worst of the Bush years! IDIOT! You cast this election as a conservative v. liberal thing after the disaster going on in Washington now, the Ds will lose by the biggest spread ever. The GOP is hoping beyond hope that you are the candidate. Joe: were it not for the traitor Jim Matthews, you would be NOTHING! Pegged as the total zero you are. How do you explain to the Dem brass that you couldn't even carry your agenda in you own county and then had to make a deal with the guy you attacked for a year to have any power? These other guys you're running against, they got their on merit. You?
Of course they want to keep the "State Store" system. What else is new? Lemmings.
I really like this comment. So true. Think about the massive ego needed for Hoeffel to think he can use his sorry record to spring into the governor's chair? Only a complete wh*re spends a couple million bucks telling voters what a terrible person Jim Matthews is (correct, btw), only to embrace said terrible person after the election. They are each wh*res. Together they are a bordello. Hoeffel is the worst of the worst. Funny the Dems a]can't get their act together and are splintering their western base. Good for Corbett who will wipe up the floor with Hoeffel. And how about Specter and Hoeffel running together? Another wh*re for the bordello or the ethically challenged.
They want to contlinue the system because the employee are forced to pay union dues/fair share just to work part time.
