How does "Teflon Tom" Corbett do it? His biggest donors for his AG election in '04 were the twin convicted felons of Asher and this guy DeNaples – by far – and yet the party and the media say nothing about it. The states' top cop's election paid for by a couple of crooks…and that's no problem with anyone. Stunning. And Asher is heavily involved inTeflon Tom's guv race! A guy who went to jail for political corruption in a pay to play scandal, attacked on national TV for his involvement with Rudy for president helping to sink that campaign, but somehow, here in PA, it is no problem that Asher runs the state GOP and is chair of its AG for governor campaign. No wonder the state's unofficial slogan is "Pennsylvania: corrupt and contented."
Good points. The Penna. State GOP national committee man is a convicted perjurer. Iconic of the Incumbent Insider Earmarking Establishment using government to get rich.
I have to echo what Bob and Randell say. The Dems will use Corbetts Ties to criminals big time in the fall. The fastest way to fall out of favor of the electorate is to be shown a hypocrite. Tom the Lawman friend to Felons will not play well.
Tom the Lawman…Friend to Felons. That's pretty catchy. Might be a TV spot there…
Tom Corbett head to head with any of the Democratic potential nominees will look like an empty suit. the lights are on but no one is home. I like that, too "Tom the Lawman…Friend to Felons" catchy and true.
Sam Smith did sign the same $10 million dollar contract for which John Perzel, a Corbett donor, was indicted. The GOP suits are underestimating the intensity of principled and independent grassroots Tea Party people. I think the intensity will grow and there will be significant, even winning, push for Sam Rohrer. The geniuses in Dem camp will try to paint him as right wing extremist. By November, that will be term of honor. Every Dem is pushing a "progressive" social agenda and Bigger and Bigger Government, More and More Spending Debt and Deficit and not addressing the Pension Bomb and the Budget deficit that will be closing in on $10 billion out of $27.9 billion dollar budget. Penna. revenues are $24 billion and the Democrats do not have any but failed programs to address jobs jobs jobs. Step 1 to growth reduce spending and cut taxes. Cutting taxes increases growth and tax revenues. State budget was $20 billion when Ed Rendell took office and he expanded with complicity of the Republicans Perzel, Smith, Argall and a few others.
Tom the "Lawman"…Friend to Felons. Tell you what? That will resonate.
