I don’t know but why do these announcements come just before holidays? I always feel something is being hidden when this happens on a Friday night, right before Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.
When the Iron Pigs were still the Scranton Red Ink Barons they too brought in crowds the first year or two. Then the attendance started dropping off and hit the point where the playoffs were drawing less people than the season high.
I remember reading a story about this team late last year where some Puerto Rican guy was offended that the piggie mascot was named Pork Chop. They had to rename him Ferrous because of some obscure racial term that I’m sure 99% of Americans never even heard of. Good thing they didn’t name him Bacon or the cops might have protested…
Where are the Muslims, who abhore anything to do with swine?
